OUTFLARE AGENT MAIL / DEVELOPERS

Custom email domains for AI agent inboxes

Use agentsget.email to start, or give your agents addresses on a domain you control. Custom domains are optional and are managed inside your Outflare brand.

Choose a domain that fits your workflow

A dedicated mail subdomain can help separate agent conversations from existing business email. Before changing anything, record the domain’s current MX, TXT and website records. Changing MX on a domain that already receives mail changes where that mail is delivered.

Domain setup is about an email identity and mail routing. It does not move the Outflare dashboard or create a separate account system. Your team and agents still use Outflare’s dashboard, API and MCP.

Verify ownership first

Add the domain in Agent Mail and publish the ownership TXT record at its current authoritative DNS provider. Copy the exact record supplied by the wizard rather than guessing a record name or value.

Ownership verification is distinct from email readiness. After the TXT record is confirmed, the wizard provides the remaining email records or the managed zone’s nameservers. Do not start sending simply because the ownership check passed.

Keep your DNS provider with manual setup

With manual DNS, you add the records Outflare supplies at your existing provider. These cover the receiving MX and the email authentication and return-path configuration required by the service. Use the wizard’s exact values, including DKIM targets.

Do not add multiple unrelated SPF records at the same hostname. If a record already exists or another service uses the domain for mail, review the existing configuration before making changes. Preserve website records and existing DMARC policy unless you have deliberately planned a change.

Or choose managed DNS

Managed DNS delegates DNS management for that domain. First publish the ownership proof at the current provider. After verification and zone preparation, use the assigned nameservers shown in the wizard.

Before changing nameservers, arrange to copy existing website and other DNS records into the managed zone. Nameserver changes affect the whole delegated zone, not only email. Existing zones may require review; subdomain delegation availability depends on the provider’s plan and setup.

Verify mail readiness and test both directions

Check the wizard’s domain status after records have propagated. Ownership, DKIM and receiving MX must all be ready; DNS propagation and provider verification can take time.

  1. Create a controlled inbox on the verified domain.
  2. Send a message to it from an address you control and confirm receipt.
  3. Reply and inspect authentication and delivery feedback at the recipient.
  4. Check that your existing website and business email still work.

Authentication helps establish the sending identity; it does not guarantee inbox placement. Recipient policy and service availability continue to apply.
